Top 10 Best Pizza Places in Pune

Pune has come a long way from cheese burst and thin crust. Today you get real Neapolitan pizza, sourdough bases fermented for days, and proper wood fired ovens across the city.

1

Si Nonna’s

5 outlets across Pune
★ 4.7 to 4.8
SourdoughWood firedVPN certifiedOpen till 1 AM

The best pizza in Pune right now. Their base is real sourdough, fermented slowly, so the crust is chewy inside with a light char outside. Pizzas are baked in a wood fired oven and the brand is Vera Pizza Napoletana certified. Order any numbered pizza, get the garlic sourdough, and finish with tiramisu.

Proper Neapolitan style margherita with an airy crust, light char, fresh basil and a balanced tomato sauce. The buffalo paneer pizza is the surprise hit, smoky and saucy. One pizza feeds two people. Their cheesy garlic bread and tiramisu both get named in review after review.

One of the oldest European restaurants in Pune, run by a father and son. It is not a pure pizzeria, but the Italian menu is classic and the ambience is cosy rather than flashy. Come for the steaks and pizza together. Cocktails are good and valet parking is available.

The wood fired oven is the whole point here. The crust comes out with a smoky flavour you cannot fake in an electric oven. Zesty chicken pizza and spaghetti carbonara are the top picks. Small, quiet and clean, right next to SP College. Prices lean slightly premium for the area.

Thin crustMall settingGood mocktails

The UK chain, and it holds up in Pune. Thin crust margherita done properly, and the fettuccine rosso is worth ordering alongside. Mocktails like the Devil’s Mary get repeat mentions. Prices are premium for a mall setting, and a few reviewers complain the air conditioning struggles on weekends.

The pure veg Italian chain. Napoli pizza, pesto paradiso with burrata and the pinsa base are the ones to order. Bund Garden and Baner branches get better reviews than Lullanagar. Prices are high and some reviewers feel the food no longer matches the cost, so go with that expectation.

The student and group favourite. Unlimited pizza is the draw, and the pricing is built for a college budget without dropping quality too far. Corn cheese balls are the standard side order. Service can slow down when it is full, so avoid peak weekend hours if you are in a hurry.

Pizza styles you will see on these menus

NeapolitanSoft puffy edge, light char spots, thin wet centre. Eaten with a fork and knife. Si Nonna’s and Da Nonna’s do this
SourdoughBase fermented for a day or more. Chewier, tangier and easier on the stomach
Wood firedBaked at very high heat over wood. Gives the smoky flavour an electric oven cannot
Thin crustCrisp all the way through. PizzaExpress and most chains use this
PinsaRoman style oval base, lighter and airier than regular pizza. Little Italy serves it
Deep dishThick base with high edges, loaded with cheese. Rare in Pune

Places I checked but left out

Pizza Toons has excellent ratings at Kothrud and Rasta Peth but very few reviews so far, so the sample is thin. Cheesiano Pizza is everywhere in PCMC and the cheese burst is good, but hygiene complaints show up too often across outlets. Slice of Soul in Viman Nagar is decent and Dough Cup in Koregaon Park has a fun pizza in a cup concept, both worth trying once but not ahead of the ten above.
