About

I am Abdullah Sayyed, based in Pune. This is my personal website, and it runs on two tracks: a practical guide to Pune, and the SEO work I do for a living.

The Pune side is the part I am building out the most. Food, cafes, places to visit, gyms, salons, hospitals, coworking spaces, IT companies, weekend getaways. The kind of information people actually search for when they live here, move here, or come to visit.

Why I started the Pune section

Search for anything about Pune and you get the same recycled lists. Ten names, no address, no timings, no price, no idea whether the place is still open. You end up opening five more tabs to figure out the basics.

I live in this city, so that gap annoys me more than it should. The idea here is simple: put the useful details in one place and be honest about what a place is good at and what it is not.

What you will find here

The Pune content is organised in three ways.

City guides

Roundups like best misal pav in Pune, best cafes, best breakfast places, best street food, best places to visit, best shopping spots, best gyms and salons, best coworking spaces, best IT companies, and weekend getaways from the city. Each entry aims to carry the details that matter: where it is, how to reach it, opening hours, rough price range, what it is known for, and what to know before you go.

Area wise guides

Pune is not one place. What works in Baner is useless if you are in Viman Nagar. So there are neighbourhood level guides too: cafes in Kothrud, misal in Koregaon Park, restaurants in Viman Nagar, IT companies in Hinjewadi, and so on. Easier to use when you want something close by.

Individual place pages

When a business shows up in a guide, it can also get its own page with fuller information: address, contact, timings, price range, services, pros and cons, and map details. That way you can compare two places properly instead of guessing from a one line mention.

How I approach the information

A few rules I try to stick to. I do not pretend to have personally eaten at every restaurant or trained at every gym on this site. Where I have been somewhere and have a real opinion, I say so. Where the listing is put together from research, verified details and reviews, that is what it is.

Timings, prices and menus change constantly in this city. I update pages when I can, but do call ahead before you travel across town. If you spot something wrong or outdated, tell me and I will fix it.

The SEO side

My professional work is SEO. I have been doing it since 2018. I started at Markets and Markets in Pune as an SEO Executive, learned the fundamentals there, and then moved on to building my own blogs and projects.

Some of those projects worked, some ran fine for a couple of years, and some got flattened by Google updates. Those failures taught me more than the job did. How search actually behaves, how content gets judged, and how quickly you have to adapt when the rules shift.

Today my work sits mostly in local SEO and local e-commerce, helping small and local businesses get found by people who are already searching for them. I am also spending a lot of time on Pinterest SEO and building case studies around it. If you run a business in Pune and want help with visibility, that is the side of the site to look at.

Where this is going

This is a long term project, not a finished product. The plan is to keep adding guides, keep adding place pages, keep the details current, and slowly build something genuinely useful for people in Pune: residents, students, people who just moved here, working professionals, visitors, and local business owners.

If you have a suggestion, a correction, a place I should cover, or you want to talk about SEO for your business, get in touch. I read everything.
